Pfizer Licenses Chai AI Platform for Drug Discovery

Chai Discovery has entered into a licensing agreement with pharmaceutical giant Pfizer, marking a significant step in the growing adoption of artificial intelligence technologies across the drug discovery industry. The partnership will give Pfizer access to Chai’s advanced AI-powered molecular design platform, including early use of the company’s next-generation Chai-3 model and a customized version tailored to Pfizer’s proprietary data and research workflows.

The agreement underscores the pharmaceutical sector’s increasing reliance on artificial intelligence to accelerate the development of new medicines and improve the efficiency of early-stage research. The launch of Chai-3 builds on the company’s earlier Chai-2 platform, released in 2025. Chai-2 was described as the first zero-shot antibody design system capable of achieving double-digit experimental hit rates while producing molecules with drug-like properties. The company reported that the technology represented a major advancement over previous computational methods and enabled discovery timelines to be reduced from months to weeks.
