EVERSANA to Commercialize Innovacell’s ICEF15 in the US

EVERSANA has been selected by Tokyo-based biotechnology company Innovacell Inc. as its exclusive commercialization partner in the United States, a move aimed at supporting the anticipated launch of ICEF15, a regenerative medicine designed to treat urgent fecal incontinence.

Under the partnership, EVERSANA will provide Innovacell with its integrated commercialization services as the biotechnology company advances ICEF15 toward the US market. The collaboration will cover a broad range of activities, including pre-launch strategy, market access, patient engagement, data analytics, agency services, field deployment and distribution.

ICEF15 is a regenerative medicine product being developed to restore muscle function and improve quality of life for people living with urgent fecal incontinence. The condition can significantly affect daily activities and social interactions, while treatment options remain an important area of unmet medical need.

Innovacell is focused on developing cell-based therapies derived from patients’ own cells. The company is pursuing regenerative medicine approaches designed to address chronic conditions by restoring impaired function rather than simply managing symptoms. Its development portfolio includes multiple clinical programs, and the company is continuing to build its capabilities ahead of potential commercialization.

The partnership with EVERSANA is intended to help Innovacell prepare for the commercial requirements associated with introducing an advanced cell-based therapy in the United States. Unlike conventional medicines, regenerative medicine and cell therapy products can involve complex development, manufacturing, distribution, patient identification and market access requirements. A coordinated commercialization strategy can therefore play an important role in preparing for a potential launch.

EVERSANA brings experience in supporting cell and gene therapy launches in the United States and Europe. Its commercialization platform is designed to provide life sciences companies with services covering the full product lifecycle, from pre-launch planning through market access and patient engagement to field operations and distribution.

The company said its experience with advanced therapies was a key factor in its selection by Innovacell. By combining commercialization planning with market access, analytics and patient-focused services, EVERSANA aims to help Innovacell establish the infrastructure needed to support ICEF15 if the therapy reaches the US market.

Mark Thierer, CEO of EVERSANA, said cell and gene therapies require different approaches to commercialization compared with traditional pharmaceutical products. He added that the company shares Innovacell’s goal of bringing new treatment options to patients and improving their quality of life.

For Innovacell, the agreement represents an important step as ICEF15 moves toward the next stage of development. The company expects EVERSANA’s US market expertise and integrated commercialization model to help create a foundation for a potential launch.

Jason Sieger, Co-CEO of Innovacell, said the company is pleased to work with EVERSANA as it prepares for the next stage of ICEF15 development and its anticipated commercialization in the United States. He highlighted EVERSANA’s commercialization capabilities and the potential of the partnership to support access to the regenerative therapy for patients seeking new treatment options.

The collaboration also reflects the growing interest in regenerative medicine and cell therapies as pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies explore treatments that can restore damaged or impaired biological functions. As these therapies progress toward commercialization, companies face challenges that extend beyond clinical development, including regulatory preparation, reimbursement, healthcare-provider education, patient access and specialized distribution.

For Innovacell, establishing a US commercialization strategy at this stage could help address some of those challenges ahead of a potential ICEF15 launch. EVERSANA’s role will be to support the company across multiple commercial functions while Innovacell continues to advance its clinical and development programs.

The timing of the partnership underscores the importance of commercial planning for emerging cell-based therapies. With ICEF15 targeting urgent fecal incontinence and aiming to restore muscle function, the companies are positioning the program for a potential entry into the US regenerative medicine market.

The agreement does not guarantee regulatory approval or commercialization of ICEF15, and the therapy will need to meet applicable clinical and regulatory requirements before it can become available to patients in the United States. However, the partnership gives Innovacell access to a dedicated commercialization platform as it works toward its longer-term goal of bringing patient-derived regenerative therapies to broader markets.
