Virtual events attract more new visitors

A recent report by the International Pharmaceutical Congress Advisory Association (IPCAA) and Ashfield Meetings & Events found an interesting conclusion: 92% of Health Care Professionals consider attending an event in virtual form, where they would not have attended the event in the past.

The benefits of virtual events
The Covid-19 pandemic forced event organizers around the world to quickly switch to the digital world. Based on the survey, 38% of HCPs believe that their conference attendance will shift to an equal balance of physical and virtual. The convenience of attending an event regardless of time and place appeals enormously. The need to network with peers from time to time also remains. Physically ‘moving’ to a conference centre allows HCPs to be fully dedicated to their medical education and networking with peers. But being able to attend virtually offers a very effective solution for time-constrained HCPs. It allows them to attend more events now that they would not normally have considered in person.

Hybrid events are the future
Choosing to participate in a way that suits your target audience at the time is called a hybrid approach. This will be the picture of the future for medical conferences. Hybrid offers the opportunity to attend or explore the event ‘live’, the online event ‘at home or from the workplace’ or even later ‘on demand’. It prompts participants to participate in more online activities than ever before. It immediately provides valuable data for the organizer.
