BeOne Invests $300 Million in U.S. Manufacturing Expansion

BeOne Medicines has announced a $300 million investment to expand its flagship manufacturing and research facility in Hopewell, New Jersey, strengthening its U.S. production capabilities and supporting the development of its growing oncology pipeline.

The latest investment will increase the company’s total spending on the Princeton West Innovation Campus to more than $1 billion and is expected to create around 120 new full-time jobs. The expansion is aimed at boosting manufacturing capacity for BeOne’s cancer medicines while supporting research, development, and future commercial production.

The company said the project reflects its long-term commitment to expanding access to innovative cancer treatments and reinforcing its manufacturing presence in the United States.

Aaron Rosenberg, Chief Financial Officer of BeOne Medicines, said the investment demonstrates the company’s dedication to strengthening domestic manufacturing while improving access to life-saving medicines for patients with cancer. He also acknowledged federal tax policies that encourage investment in biopharmaceutical production, as well as New Jersey’s manufacturing initiatives, saying they create an environment that supports long-term industry growth and high-quality job creation.

The expansion includes the construction of a new three-story, 145,000-square-foot facility next to the company’s existing Hopewell operations. Once completed, the Princeton West Innovation Campus will cover approximately 545,000 square feet and become a fully integrated manufacturing site capable of producing both biologic medicines and small molecule drug products under one roof.

The new building will house drug product manufacturing and packaging operations, quality control laboratories, office space, and additional capacity for future expansion. The company said the upgraded site will also strengthen its supply chain and provide greater flexibility for strategic partnerships and collaborative development programs.

Construction is already planned, with the expanded facility expected to become fully operational in 2029. By then, BeOne expects approximately 240 employees to be working at the Hopewell campus.

The Princeton West Innovation Campus officially opened in July 2024 following an initial investment of $800 million. It currently serves as BeOne’s primary U.S. manufacturing and clinical research hub, supporting biologics production for the company’s solid tumor programs. Located on a 42-acre site, the campus also offers more than one million square feet of developable space, allowing room for future expansion as the company’s pipeline grows.

BeOne said the latest investment will further strengthen what it describes as its “global development superhighway”—an integrated platform that combines research, clinical development, regulatory expertise, and manufacturing within the company. The approach is designed to shorten development timelines and reduce the cost of bringing new cancer therapies to patients.

The additional manufacturing capacity will support more than 35 clinical and commercial-stage oncology assets across a wide range of cancers, including blood cancers, breast, lung, liver, gastrointestinal, and gynecologic tumors. The pipeline includes several advanced treatment technologies such as small molecules, biologics, multispecific antibodies, targeted protein degraders, and antibody-drug conjugates.

BeOne Medicines, headquartered in Switzerland, employs more than 12,000 people worldwide, including over 2,000 employees in the United States. In 2025, the company reported nearly $2 billion in direct U.S. economic impact and invested approximately $1 billion in U.S. research and development.

The company is currently conducting 93 clinical trials across 45 U.S. states and one territory, involving approximately 1,100 clinical trial sites and supported by more than 650 investigators. According to BeOne, its cancer therapies have reached more than 2 million patients worldwide, underscoring the company’s continued focus on expanding access to innovative oncology treatments through increased manufacturing capacity and ongoing research investment.
