Kyowa Kirin, Knight Therapeutics Expand Poteligeo Access in Latin America

Kyowa Kirin International has entered into an exclusive distribution agreement with Knight Therapeutics to expand access to Poteligeo (mogamulizumab) for patients with cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL) in Latin America.

Under the agreement, Knight Therapeutics will have exclusive distribution rights for Poteligeo in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Mexico. The company will also be responsible for seeking the required regulatory approvals and commercializing the treatment in these markets.

Poteligeo is being developed for patients with mycosis fungoides (MF) and Sézary syndrome (SS), two types of CTCL. CTCL is a rare form of non-Hodgkin lymphoma that mainly affects the skin.

The agreement marks the first time Kyowa Kirin will introduce Poteligeo through a collaboration in Latin America. The companies said the partnership is intended to improve access to treatment for patients with CTCL across the region.

Knight Therapeutics will use its regional commercial presence to support the introduction of Poteligeo, while Kyowa Kirin will contribute its expertise in rare diseases and the medicine.

“Through our proud partnership with Knight Therapeutics, we can help to increase patient access in Latin America,” said Céline Rhême, Cluster General Manager, Emerging Growth Markets at Kyowa Kirin.

Poteligeo is a monoclonal antibody designed to target CCR4, a protein found on certain cancer cells. It is already used in several markets for adults with MF or SS after at least one prior systemic therapy. Kyowa Kirin continues to generate clinical and real-world evidence around mogamulizumab in these diseases.

The new agreement comes as the companies seek to address treatment access and awareness challenges for people living with CTCL in Latin America.

For Knight Therapeutics, the partnership adds another specialty oncology product to its regional portfolio. For Kyowa Kirin, the agreement expands the geographic reach of Poteligeo and supports its broader strategy of bringing treatments for rare and serious diseases to more patients.

The companies will now work toward the regulatory and commercial steps needed to make Poteligeo available in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Mexico.
