Made Scientific Acquires Pennsylvania Cell Therapy Manufacturing Facility
Made Scientific has acquired an 85,000-square-foot cell therapy manufacturing facility in East Norriton, Pennsylvania, from National Resilience as it expands its capacity to support cell therapy programs from clinical development through commercial production.
The transaction closed on September 18, 2026. The facility was already operational when the deal closed, allowing Made Scientific to avoid the long construction, qualification and ramp-up process associated with building a new manufacturing site.
The facility has produced 145 GMP batches across several autologous and allogeneic cell therapy programs, including CAR-T and B-cell therapies. Made Scientific said clients can begin onboarding programs immediately, with the site positioned to support clinical and commercial supply from 2027.
The East Norriton facility is designed for high-throughput cell therapy manufacturing and includes eight Grade B/C cleanrooms, a Grade C ballroom and a Grade B fill-finish suite. It also has quality control and analytical testing laboratories and high-bay warehouse space.
The site includes 30,000 square feet of additional expansion space. Made Scientific has plans that could support the development of eight more manufacturing ballrooms as demand grows or clients require dedicated production areas.
The facility will support manufacturing of starting materials, drug substances and drug products. Made Scientific also plans to add scalable 3D bioreactor systems of up to 200 liters, advanced cell harvesting equipment, automated fill-finish capabilities and lyophilization capacity.
The acquisition expands Made Scientific’s capabilities across several cell therapy areas, including mesenchymal stem cell, secretome, exosome and senolytic therapies. The company also supports immune-cell, iPSC-derived and engineered-tissue programs through its Princeton, New Jersey operations.
Clients will be able to transfer existing manufacturing processes to the East Norriton facility or use Made Scientific’s ReadyMADE platforms across different therapeutic modalities.
With the acquisition, Made Scientific’s total U.S. East Coast operating footprint has grown to about 145,000 square feet. The network now includes 15 qualified GMP manufacturing suites, along with process and analytical development laboratories and quality control testing capabilities.
The company is also preparing its Princeton facility for a U.S. Food and Drug Administration pre-licensure inspection expected in early 2027. Made Scientific said the East Norriton facility will undergo the inspection process afterward.
The expansion comes as demand for cell therapy manufacturing capacity continues to grow as more therapies move into late-stage clinical development and regulatory review. Made Scientific said having an operational GMP facility will allow it to support programs moving toward commercial production without waiting for a new site to be built and qualified.
